Wait, before reading this rather tiring affidavit – please read the 2nd section first – it is much more fun than this one :)
But if you absolutely must, here we go...
Born in Denmark, Scandinavia, Trine Frank is a professional animation creator/animator, writer, illustrator & designer.
She has worked with animation & film production, branding, communication, visual identity, design and project coordination for a numerous of companies and cultural institutions.
Winning a national graphic design competition while still a student, studying at Design School Kolding in Denmark, with further 8 months of animation studies at California Institute of The Arts in the US, and it led to a career in the movie industry of Hollywood.
Trine has worked in various positions and on some of the memorable characters in film history, on feature animation productions in Los Angeles over the years, for multiple major studios in the field, - including DreamWorks Feature Animation, Turner Feature Animation and Warner Bros. Feature Animation et al.
With a passion for storytelling, Trine ventured into writing books and scripts, being an animation creator for movie & TV-series.
She is a member of The American Animation Guild - IATSE Local 839 in Los Angeles.
– Trine is adept in 5 languages and have lived in 4 countries... It sounds funny when she is tired though, as she tends to mix the languages all at once.
– She loves eating gummy bears and any occasion is good for that... Really, any occasion!!
– Whatta ya know, being a tomboy at heart, Trine practiced martial arts, Taekwondo, for over 15 years and competed in tournaments, eventually becoming a certified instructor and corner referee… Nonetheless, though it sounds nice, it would be hypocritical to call her a Buddhist.
– Winning 1. st. prize – a Vespa scooter – in a nationwide writing competition through Politikens book publisher & Bog&Ide book stores in Denmark, - and Trine enjoys driving in nature pretending being Audrey Hepburn singing… ‘I could’ve danced all night.’
Charmful thinking though, as Trine doesn't look like Mrs. Hepburn at all and she dances... well, kind of interesting...
– When first arriving in the States Trine didn’t speak or write English well… she could not pronounce th-sounds and it took her almost 2 ½ years learning to say three.
A matter of fact when landing her first animation job on the movie Cats Don’t Dance, Trine didn’t understand a word of what the executive producer explained in their first meeting.
But, it sounded important, and it properly was. Nevertheless, she was hired to work on the main character...
Truth be told, Trine’s English language skills were terrible in the beginning of writing her scripts, - however, her representative Mr. Binder believed in her ideas to the degree of helping her with grammar, when she penned her first drafts... and the rest is history.
Today all her work is mainly written in English... well, occasionally a made-up word still slips in.
– Trine call Denmark her home and she can wiggle her right little toe without moving the rest!
... See, this unimportant selfie-of-words, is much more fun info to know :)
Nevertheless, if wanting to know more...
Ideas, plots, and dialog find their foundational somatic ground in the most unusual ways, and writing during the night is normally when Trine create her stories...
”I write in color and paint in words!“ she says. “Inspiration comes from everything around me. What drives me is life itself. Living is a continues work in progress,” Trine adds.
Her books and scripts are written in English and is represented by longtime legal rep and entertainment attorney law offices in Los Angeles.
